My sister has a treadmill in her bedroom. She swears she uses it often enough to warrant the space, but every time I’ve gone into her room, the only thing I see on the thing is clothes and shopping bags. lol!
I’m thinking treadmills are just really boring that’s why most people who have them eventually get tired of using them. I’m thinking maybe ellipticals would be better for her. They would certainly give a variety of movement that will keep them from being too boring. My two cents…
But then, what do I know. I don’t work out at all! Well, I do go walking often, but I don’t think that counts a a ‘workout’.

My cousin from Japan was here the last few days for a visit, so we decided to show her around and also show her a good time. When I arrived last weekend, my sister was cleaning up her house and getting her guest room ready. She was also dusting off the patio furniture for the cook out she was going to have to welcome our cousin.

I heard from a friend last week that their plans to move to North Carolina has been postponed for the meantime. The job he was hoping to get didn’t come through so they are staying put up north until something else comes up. He has an offer from a company in New York but I’m trying to encourage him to wait for an offer further south. It would be nice to have a close friend living nearby again. At least he won’t be needing a New York Moving Company anytime soon
Selfish, I know, but he and his wife agree that the kids would probably fare better here in NC than in New York anyway. Plus, with the state of the real estate market right now, they realize they probably need to wait a little longer before they sell their present home.

Two ideologies have been popular in the media in the past couple of years. The Secret, which expounds on the Laws of Attraction; it’s basically the “build it and they will come” idea. Before one can manifest the Laws of Attraction, one has to first follow the Laws of Surrender which means letting go of all the baggage that you have been carrying and be conscious of the moment instead.
The New Earth by Eckhart Tolle that Oprah is presently highlighting and conducting online classes on letting go of the ego and creating a greater consciousness. The idea behind Tolle’s book is that our egos make us believe in ‘illusions’ that we perceive as real. When we become conscious of our ego and learn to be in the present, we can let go of our illusions and stop spreading them to other around us.
Now there is the The Sedona Method which combines the best of these two ideologies. According to their website,
how do we bridge the gap between getting what we want through the Law of Attraction while not creating greater attachment to the ego? The Sedona Method is that bridge.
In essence, the Sedona method is how A New Earth meets The Secret.

In the hopes of making myself a better person, I have seen the advice, “know your worth” over and over again; while I think I know the basic premise of it, I have never really put it to practice. At least now whole heartedly anyway.
In business, there is something called Business valuation. That means knowing what your business is worth. Not just what it is worth now in physical terms, you also have to consider its worth intellectually and how much it could be worth in the future. That principle applies to individuals too.
I hear all the time how someone feels worthless. Well, no one is worthless. You could be penniless and down to the shirt on your back; but assess what you are truly worth and you will realize how rich your are.

or are they? You know that saying, who needs enemies when you have friends like these? Well that’s what I was thinking about when I wrote about having Fair Weather Friends.
I think if I had this conversation a few years ago, I probably would have either taken the bait into the hate fest or I would have just said nothing and nodded my head. I think with age, I have gotten a little impatient with games. The emotional games we play. I hate to see how some people seem to thrive in the misery of others and they try to pull you in with them. Do you know people like this?
