Handbag Giveaway Galore!

I just happened by MomReviews this morning and found out about this handbag giveaway. Now who doesn’t love a handbag? Not me, certainly! I was all over this handbag giveaway from Handbag Planet immediately.

The Handbag Planet will officially launch on October 15 and on that day, they will give away a handbag every hour! Handbag Planet will be a site where you can get designer bags for a fraction of the cost. To sign up for the giveaway, all you have to do is click on the link above and enter your first name and email address. That’s it! If you’re feeling generous and feel like sharing with your friends, you can increase your chances of winning by spreading the word to your friends. Now keep in mind, that means your chances of winning will decrease the more friends you invite.  :D But if you have a blog or website, you can earn more chances by blogging about the contest like I just did. So you want a new handbag?

Back to School Fashion

My girls just came back from California and they came home loaded down with their shopping loot. The girls love to go shopping in downtown Los Angeles with their aunts. Not only do they find stylish clothes that none of their friends would have, they also love the low prices! What can I say, my daughters love cheap clothing as much as I do!

Heavenly Couture is located in Beverly Hills but they have an online store, so no worries. Despite their expensive 90210 zip code, Heavenly Couture is very affordable. Everything in the store is $17.95 or less. This would be a perfect place for my teens to get Cheap Junior Clothing. Check out some of the items in their inventory. You’ll be amazed! I know my girls would love these stylish outfits:

Timeless Classics

75x75Some people are born with an innate sense of style and some people are born with none. The rest of us have to learn our style and we do it mostly by imitating others, whose sense of style we admire.

I’ve always admired women who leaned more towards the classic styles rather than the trendy. Rather than the Madonna or Sex in the City types, I leaned more towards Murphy Brown/Candice Bergen and Jaclyn Smith types (Yeah, I know I’m dating myself here). But even if I wasn’t influenced by the media and celebrities, I think I would still lean toward the classic, more conventional rather than urban and trendy. I have no underlying desire to set trends or invent anything new in fashion. I just want to be comfortable in what I’m wearing while not looking ridiculous at the same time.

That’s why I am drawn to the classic lines of clothing lines like Dockers, The Gap, Ann Taylor and Lands End. Their styles are timeless, and it’s a good thing too because they are so well made, they can last forever!

Speaking of forever, you can immortalize your love for fashion by joining the Dockers contest going on right now. If you are passionate about your clothes and like making videos, you can make your own commercial and enter it to this contest.

Visit the Dockers contest website for additional details regarding rules and prizes.

Are you sitting on Dockers Bay?

240x180“Sittin’ on the dock of the bay…” oh yeah! Well that’s why I can’t possibly qualify for the the Dockers contest going on, I can’t be original enough!

Oh well, I can still wear my favorite Dockers pants though. I wouldn’t lie and say that everything in my closet is Dockers, but I can tell you that my some of my favorite pieces and most worn pieces are Dockers. They are also some of the oldest pieces of clothing I have since they are so durable and can endure a lot of wear. I work in an office whose dress code is ‘office casual’. That means we don’t have to wear suits everyday, but we can’t wear jeans and t-shirt either. For me that means slacks and a professional shirt. My favorite slacks to wear, and I have at least three pairs of them, are Dockers metro pants. The style is classic and very flattering even for a 40 something year old figure like mine.

When my sister first bought me a pair of metro pants, my first thought was, this is like a teeny bopper style, more suitable for the early twenties figure. But after I put it on and it immediately slid my fashion look meter to the younger side, I was immediately sold on them! Now, I don’t just wear them to work, which they are perfect for, I also sometimes wear them on the weekends when I just want to look nice. I never thought I would wear pants that hang slightly below the waist; I always thought you’re supposed to wear pants right at your waistline. The problem with that thinking is, when you bunch everything at the waist, it makes it look thicker. By having pants that are slightly below the waistline, it actually makes your torso look longer and your waistline smaller. Now you see why I love them?

Now if you love your Dockers as much as I do and are good at making videos, make sure you enter the Dockers contest and maybe get your video shown on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show on June 13. Visit the website for additional details and also to view some of the entries already submitted. Some are pretty good, but I bet you can probably come up with something very original and better. ;)
