I don’t have too much time to watch TV lately. When I do I like to watch good stuff. Most of the time I watch old shows. And when I say “old” I mean old. We have a retro television channel on our TV that plays shows like Get Smart, Dragnet, and other classics. If I don’t watch that I like to watch reruns of old sitcoms like Friends, 8 Simple Rules, Everybody Loves Raymond and Sex and the City.

I never thought I’d be a Sex and the City fan, but what with Carrie and her crazy friends, Manolo Blahnik shoes, cool job and funny relationships, I couldn’t help but watch. When the movie came out last summer, I really wanted to go see it with my friends but the fact that it was rated R and we were all juggling a number of summer activities I never got around to it. I still haven’t seen the movie, but I really want to. Maybe one day at one of our little girly sleepovers we’ll watch it!

American Idol started its eighth season last week. American Idol, is probably one of my favorite reality shows, however I don’t watch much past the beginning try-outs. One of the most famous winners of the contest, Carrie Underwood, is one of my favorite country music stars. I’m not a huge country music buff, but I can appreciate the musical stylings of Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and alli diet pill spokesperson Wynonna Judd.
Idol looks promising this year with the interesting talent I’ve seen so far, no one has blown me out of the water–in a positive way at least. The addition of the fourth judge was a good move, I think. So far I’m a fan of Kara DioGaurdi. She has good credentials to back up her opinions and I agree with her on most of her decisions. She balances out the other three judges pretty well. If you haven’t been watching Idol I suggest you start this season, the Idol team is trying to spice up their traditional outlook so it looks to be an interesting season!

Fans of Johnny Depp will be eagerly awaiting his next adventure as the Mad Hatter in the classic Lewis Carroll fairy tale, Alice in Wonderland which is again going to be directed by Tim Burton and is set to be released in 2010. Tim Burton and Johnny Depp have previously worked together in Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sweeney Todd. I’m a fan of both and I can’t wait to see their take on one of my favorite classics.
Imagining what they would come up with, I can almost see something like Annie Leibovitz’ vision of Alice in wonderland:

10/08/08 UPDATE: Just saw this first look of how the movie will look like. I think it’s already getting that “Tim Burton” feel

Why am I not surprised? Clay Aiken admits he’s gay. Finally, after trying to hide it all these years when it seemed obvious to everyone else. Poor guy’s been working so hard to hide it; that’s what most people thought when it was first announced he’s having a baby. People thought he’s doing a Michael Jackson. I’m sure he feels the weight lifted off him now that it’s out.

You weren’t surprised, were you?

I just found out that one of my favorite actors, Morgan Freeman was in a car accident and is no in critical condition. They say that his car flipped several times when he skidded off the road in Mississippi. He was airlifted to a Memphis hospital and he is in serious condition, they say. I’m praying he comes through this accident. He is one of my favorite actors and I never fail to watch his movies even if he’s not playing the major role. He just adds so much to every movie he’s in. Love him!
I found out bout the news via Twitter, believe it or not. I have been getting the latest breaking news because of tweets from fellow bloggers. For instance, last weekend when I started to panic over my websites not showing up for some people, I found out via Twitter that it was a Sitemeter problem. Solved my problem within minutes, and I looked like a hero.
If you are still not Twittering, you need to get started. Make sure you follow me too.

I can’t get the image of that guy screaming “leave bitney alone!!!” out of my head every time I thin of Britney Spears now. Thank goodness I don’t think about her that much. lol! But, with her recent traffic mishap putting her back in the spotlight, one can’t help but hear about her.
The media paparazzi have a field day everytime one of these starlets get into trouble. The sad thing is, they are prime fodder for gossip material with all the antics they get into and the addiction treatment they seem to be constantly getting in and out of. Some of it is probably just a publicity gimmick, but I think that some of these celebrities just have had their brains fried and are just plain stupid.
