Staff Uniforms in the Service Industry

ladies-front-desk-uniforms-7

There are many professions where the employees wear uniforms. The uniforms vary in colors depending on the business and the position of the employee wearing them. Some uniforms consist of a jacket, shirt or vest that has the name of the company or the last name of the employee on the front pocket or they could be as simple as a t-shirt with the business name on the back.

Is Entropay the New Payment Solution?

I use PayPal. I use it a lot! I use it mainly for my online transactions and online payments. It’s a convenient way for me to be able to conduct financial transactions without compromising my personal banking information. I feel it is more secure than using my personal credit cards and bank accounts. So far, I hadn’t heart of any other service that offers similar benefits.

EntropayThat is, until now. I haven’t heard much about Entropay yet, and I haven’t had a chance to use their services yet either. However, just from a brief perusal of their website, Entropay.com, it looks like right now their main target are e-commerce sites who are looking to set up shop online and be able to take payments or affiliate sites who are looking to set up a solution to payout to their affiliates efficiently.

The only drawback that I could see from their website is that it takes two weeks to deploy the service on your website. That seems like a long time to wait when you’re trying to get an online business going. If you are just using their services to pay or get paid though, it seems their registration is fairly easy and convenient just like PayPal. However, as they say, the proof is in the pudding or in this case, in the trying. If you’ve used Entropay before, let us know. It’s always good to have alternate sources of service rather than being bound to one.

A Retail Business Printer

POS microMy husband has his own business and so do several of our friends. One of the most important things that they are all concerned with are their point of sale equipment. Whether they are using an old fashioned cash register or an automated credit card processing machine, the most important thing is that it works

The Epson tm-t88iv is a thermal printer that is designed to handle a high-volume retail environment and it also has speed. That means that you don’t have a long wait time to get a receipt out when ringing up a sale. The printer works with most point of sale systems so you won’t have to worry about any compatibility issues.

Teaching Teens About Credit

Credit Card Reform Legislation Would Tighten Rules On Rates And FeesWhen I was growing up, I never had any instruction on how to handle my finances. I was on the learn as you go method; so I was determined to change that with my daughters. They all have a bank account. The older ones have a checking account with a Visa debit card that they can use when they are out with their friends or away at camp. I have tried to teach them how to budget their money and check their balances, and balance their checkbooks. With two of them getting ready to go to college, I talk to them about the temptations of credit cards which are practically given away to college students.

I got in trouble early on with my credit card. After all, who wouldn’t be tempted? Hey, I figured, I can afford the $15 a month payment! No one told me that was just the minimum payment required. Nobody told me how fast your balance can go up when you’re buying what you want at the department store and eating out all the time. No one told me that you should have a job so you can pay off your credit card balance.

The credit card pit is one fall I can keep my daughters from so we’re starting early. I’m also glad to find out that some of the lessons are sinking in and that they are relating it to what they’re learning in school too. My daughter wrote the following:

This year as a high school sophomore I took a required course called “Civics and Economics.” The course studies civics for the first part of the semester, studying basic American history and government as well as the foreign influences of such. The second part of the semester studies economics. Overall the class educated us on the basics of living in America, things many people may surprisingly be ignorant to. Things we learned were at times simple facts, “the vice president succeeds the president in case of death, and the speaker of the house may succeed him.” Other things had to be memorized in order to pass the tests and understand our laws, “the supreme court case Korematsu v. United States gives the US government permission to withdraw certain constitutional rights and even force its citizens into internment camps in cases of national security.” Other things were slightly more complex, or required more teaching. One question I had answered, that I was glad we did for I had been wondering about it for sometime, was “what is a credit report or a credit score?

A credit score is a rank that is assigned to each person based on their credit history and is used by creditors to determine a person’s credit worthiness. They look at how you paid back your previous loans. Did you pay them on time, how many credit cards do you have and is the total amount of what you owe in a good ratio to the amount of money you earn?

Federal law states that everyone is entitled to a free credit report every 12 months. You can even get a credit rating online. A credit report tells the history of your previous loans, credit card payments etc. A credit score is used mainly by lenders such as banks in order to find potential risks in lending to certain consumers. People starting out with no credit history should start to build a strong one by using a student credit card of some sort and paying the bills on time and in full. Learn more about credit reports and credit scores. It is often found to be important down the road when one looks to take out a loan of some sort.

Internet Marketers Against the NC Affiliate Tax

If you’re an internet marketer and you’re in North Carolina, you’ve probably heard the news already. NC is getting ready to pass a bill which, as Amazon puts it, an illegal tax collection scheme. What it basically means is that we who are in North Carolina who used to earn some income from affiliates like Amazon are out of the affiliate business because NC has decided to tax businesses like Amazon for doing business in their state. Apparently, Hawaii and New York also has similar laws and other states are following suite. California, for instance, has been mentioned to be considering this scheme to get itself out of the financial trouble its in.

This legislation does not only impact affiliate marketers like Amazon, however. This affects any company who has affiliates in NC. North Carolinians may also be facing higher insurance rates soon as some insurance companies will also fall into this category.

In the meantime, little guys like me are out of business and losing money. If you notice, most of my Amazon affiliate links on this blog and other blogs have been removed. That’s because Amazon sent me a letter a week ago saying that my account with them has been closed because of this pending legislation.

We are writing from the Amazon Associates Program to notify you that your Associates account has been closed as of June 26, 2009. This is a direct result of the unconstitutional tax collection scheme expected to be passed any day now by the North Carolina state legislature (the General Assembly) and signed by the governor. As a result, we will no longer pay any referral fees for customers referred to Amazon.com or Endless.com after June 26. We were forced to take this unfortunate action in anticipation of actual enactment because of uncertainties surrounding the legislation’s effective date.

Please be assured that all qualifying referral fees earned prior to June 26, 2009 will be processed and paid in full in accordance with our regular referral fee schedule. Based on your account closure date of June 26, 2009, any final payments will be paid by September 1, 2009.

In the event that North Carolina repeals this tax collection scheme, we would certainly be happy to re-open our Associates program to North Carolina residents.

The North Carolina General Assembly’s website is http://www.ncleg.net/, and additional information may be obtained from the Performance Marketing Alliance at http://www.performancemarketingalliance.com/.

We have enjoyed working with you and other North Carolina-based participants in the Amazon Associates Program, and wish you all the best in your future.

Best Regards,

The Amazon Associates Team

Good Service Matters

Last week, I got a text message from my husband. He said we had a river flowing in front of our house. See, the city crew has busted a main water line by accident. While he and our neighbor were outside watching the melee, he suddenly noticed Mr. Smith’s (our neighbor) yard was starting to get wet. It turned out, when the pressure got too high due to to water main burst, it caused his supply line to burst. We didn’t know that. Luckily, he immediately found a plumbing company to come and fix the pipe for him. They were the ones that he hired when he renovated his bathrooms and installed beautiful Moen faucets throughout. The plumbers came right out and fixed the problem.

What amazed me was, after they were done, they actually replanted his lawn grass then covered it with straw to protect the new growth! Now that’s service!
