The title of the article is You Should Date an Illiterate Girl. Being a person who is often touched (or should I say cursed?) with sarcasm, I realized right away that I liked the article. I love to read and I hope that I have imbued the same propensity on my daughters. They all love to read albeit different genres. But I don’t care, at least they like to read other books that aren’t assigned to them.
But the essay about not dating a girl who reads is really not the point of the story. I think it is about choosing someone who can keep your interest to spend the rest of your days with. It’s about knowing who you are and what you want and need in another person. So if you truly would rather be with someone vacuous but meek rather than with someone opinionated with a perspicacious tendency, then I suppose there’s nothing wrong with dating a girl who doesn’t read. At least she would probably know who scott kay is; because I swear I had no idea who that was!
