Getting with the program

I have never had any really gross skin problems while I was a teen. So it’s really aggravating me now that I’m older, I’m getting acne! It started out innocuously enough being just one or two pimples on my chin. Then it started moving up to my nose. Then back down to the chin, but now they’ve had a baby. There’s three of them now. Before you know it they started popping out of my cheeks too! Dammit!

So at 40 something, I am combating my skin with acne cream. Well that, and I’m finally making a more regimented effort to keep up with my skin care ritual. So now every night and every morning I make sure to cleanse my face thoroughly, tone and moisturize. Where I used to be haphazard about the brand of cosmetics I use, I try to be more selective now, opting for those with less harmful chemicals. Is this another sign of getting old or have I just been too lax in my hygiene and now need to catch up?

Get Wired or Unwired That is the Question

When you have a computer, if you’re plugged into the internet or local network, then you become quite familiar with different kinds of cables like Cat5e patch cable which are Ethernet cables.

We are getting such a tangle under our computer desk at home that the other day, my husband was wishing we had all wireless connection. Especially since I can sit in bed and blog while he has to sit at the desk to work on his website. Boohoo! :) I’m such a meanie, huh?

Food Blog Update

Don’t go pulling your diet pills, you can just look at the pictures. Here are some of the things we’ve been cooking up in our kitchen lately:

Ratatouille Ratatouille this is supposed to be THE dish from the movie, Ratatouille. It’s not your regular chopped up vegetables thrown together in the pot, this is definitely more refined and the taste reflects that too.

CocoFlan Yakitori
These were my entries for Lasang Pinoy Sundays, a weekly food photo blogging event featuring Filipino foods, in the spirit of the other photo events like Wordless Wednesday, Thursday’s Challenge, and so on.

YakitoriYakitori Grilled Chicken It’s summer time, so you know it’s gotta be the time for grilling. We certainly have done our share of grilling already. This is the first of many, I’m sure.

Braid with Apple FillingFinally, a Danish Braid We cooked this up as part of the Daring Baker’s challenge. If you ever want to show off to your friends and pretend like you’re some kind of baker, then you’ve gotta learn how to do this braided dough.
