You got that right, pigs are flying and in style!
I’m getting the feeling that the flavor of the year is bacon. I’ve been seeing things, strange and never before thought of things, flavored with bacon. So far on the food blogs I’ve seen bacon ice cream, bacon cakes, and now, bacon flavored chocolate!
You gotta try out this piggy treat. It’s perfect for Father’s Day!

Travel

What if you had to go away where no one can find you? Go away and leave everything you know and love behind. Where would you go?
If I had a choice, I would definitely go somewhere warm. I would stand out too much anywhere cold and that’s not an excuse. It’s a fact. Brown people don’t blend so well in the snow. So, if I were ‘disappear’, I would need to go where I can blend in but not anywhere obvious. So obviously, I can’t go back to the Philippines. That would be the first place someone would look for me.
Now just between you and me, and you’ve got to keep this quiet now as it is part of my secret fantasy, I would go south of the border. Shhh…. For one, my looks would blend in nicely. I speak a smattering of Spanish, just enough to pass. And best of all, and I would make sure my hiding place is close to the beach. Gotta have some water nearby!
So how about you, do you have a secret getaway place in mind? If you don’t, you should watch USA Network’s new original series In Plain Sight. You may be able to get some ideas. Hey, it doesn’t hurt to dream and it may come in handy one day.
Look at the characters in the new TV show, In Plain Sight. Did they dream they would have to go into hiding one day? No, of course not. None of them had a back up plan. That’s why they need Mary, the witness protection program agent assigned to protect and relocate them to make all the arrangements. Which, by the way, she does with efficiency and daring while dealing with her ditsy mother and sister at home. It’s a funny and interesting premise for a tv show, don’t you think?

I’m not an overly vain person (I think) that’s why you don’t seem many mentions of beauty products and such on my blogs. However, the one thing that I am obsessive about (well, almost) is sandals and feet. I get the shivers when I see people in sandals with dried feet, nasty nails and cracked heels. Granted, I understand that not everyone can get a pedicure or foot spas, but good grooming is better than nothing!
For instance, you don’t have to go to a fancy spa to get your feet ready for the summer. Goodness know, I don’t. I can’t afford it! There are a variety of foot care products out there that are affordable, like Dr. Scholl’s. My husband and I love their foot lotions and they really do work relieving the dryness and cracking.
At the very least, good ol’ vaselline does a terrific job moisturizing your feet and at least they won’t look so gross when you wear your sandals.

Blogging
People who are used to writing journals are probably content in knowing that their journals will stay private for as long as they live even though some of them may have secret yearnings to be the next Ann Frank after they die. Bloggers, although most probably evolved from diary keepers, are a different breed. We want someone to read our writings, our thoughts, our ramblings no matter how mundane. Bloggers go to great lengths to promote their blogs, inviting a bigger audience to comment, to critique and admire what they’ve put to words. Its addicting, this interaction the internet provides. Regular people almost get a taste of the addiction to fame that only few experience.
Andy Warhol’s theory of 15 minutes of fame gets blown out of the water by the internet thanks to mediums such as Zookoda which facilitates broadcasting your blogs and websites. If you’re an internet surfer, you’ll know how easy it is to forget about some blogs or websites as you discover newer and better materials during your stumbles on the world wide web. Then you come across them again later and ask yourself, “darn, this stuff is good! Why didn’t I come here more often?” That’s the nature of the fast paced super highway. Unless there are road signs directing you to make a u-turn, you just keep going until you bump into something new or you just happen to make a full circle.
One way to make your readers to keep making that u-turn is to keep your blogs on the top of their list. One way to do that is via newsletters. Zookoda can help you manage a newsletter mailing that summarizes your posts either weekly or monthly so that your readers will always remember to come back to your site. Some of the features Zookoda does for you are:
Zookoda enables you to:
- Manage email newsletter subscribers.
-Enhance your blog with custom newsletter subscription forms.
-Design eye-catching newletters to match your blog design.
-Schedule recurring broadcasts for each day, week or month.
-View real-time open, bounce, click and unsubscribe reports.
-Access mobile users by emailing blog content in text format.
All these features, you can avail yourself with for free! I hadn’t used their service before, but with the growing number of my blogs and with my husband’s websites, I think Zookoda will be just the thing to keep us in our readers’ minds.

Web Finds
I found this while searching for work related stuff and I thought it would be also a good resource for people with small businesses like my husband, who is an artist.
You can print posters for exhibition or advertising from a number of companies on the web. One that I found is P&D Graphics that specializes in research posters. They can print your presentations from a PDF file to heavyweight paper and can expand from 36×48 inches to 48×96 inches. In addition, they can also print out color handouts to go with your poster so you can have all your presentation materials printed from one central location.
This certainly helped me out in my work. I hope it can be a resource for you too.
