The ten cent drive by tour

BH

My cousin from Japan came to visit the U.S. a couple of weeks ago so I arranged to meet up with her in Los Angeles where sister O and I ended up playing travel guides to her whirlwind tour. She only had four days to spend in L.A. so we got the ten cent version of the the grand tour. She had running glimpses of the major areas at least: Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Venice Beach and of course, where my mom lives in West L.A. We even managed to squeeze in an overnight run to one of the local Indian casinos in Indio, so that was a lot of experience she had in 4 days!

Change is good sometimes…

My husband enjoys his daily glass of merlot, but I can’t help but wonder how he doesn’t ever get tired of drinking the same wine and brand all the time! I for one like trying new wines and different kinds of wines from pinks to reds to clear. I’m thinking of maybe joining some wine clubs just to get a little more variety in our kitchen. I’m just afraid the hubs will get spoiled if he knows a steady supply of vino is just waiting to steam into our kitchen. lol!

Twittering by Cell

Geez, I was feeling bad because I couldn’t go with my daughter to her honor roll luncheon with the school superintendent, and look, I see her twittering from the luncheon:

Twit

What am I going to do with this girl? :) Good thing she gets straight A’s in school.

If you’re curious how you too can post to twitter via your cell phone, visit Twitter.com for details.

Get an Early Start

Talking ClockIt amazes me how many kids today can’t tell time using an analog clock. All they know to tell time with is via digital clocks. This Teach Me Time Clock will get children learning how to tell time earlier so hopefully by the time they go to school they will not only have a routine, they will know how to track that routine.

This alarm clock will grow with your child as they learn how to read time. To start, the clock can ’speak’ the time to your child until they learn to associate the placement of the hour and minute hand on the clock with the time spoken out. As they grow older and the ’speaking’ time is no longer needed, this very cool looking clock functions much like a regular alarm clock with snooze features and night lighting.

Indy is Back!

I can’t believe the Indiana Jones movies is back with the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I watched the earlier Indy movies back in the eighties and was totally enamored with Harrison Ford. I can’t believe he did this new movie too after all these years!

Well last weekend we didn’t get a chance to do our movie fest, so I think this weekend may be it. Although, before the girls see this latest Indy movie, I had really planned on renting the earlier ones so they can become indoctrinated in the Indy lore first :)

My girls love old movies so I think they will probably enjoy watching the oldies first. Check theaters near you where the new Indiana Jones movie is playing.
