Are you sitting on Dockers Bay?

240x180“Sittin’ on the dock of the bay…” oh yeah! Well that’s why I can’t possibly qualify for the the Dockers contest going on, I can’t be original enough!

Oh well, I can still wear my favorite Dockers pants though. I wouldn’t lie and say that everything in my closet is Dockers, but I can tell you that my some of my favorite pieces and most worn pieces are Dockers. They are also some of the oldest pieces of clothing I have since they are so durable and can endure a lot of wear. I work in an office whose dress code is ‘office casual’. That means we don’t have to wear suits everyday, but we can’t wear jeans and t-shirt either. For me that means slacks and a professional shirt. My favorite slacks to wear, and I have at least three pairs of them, are Dockers metro pants. The style is classic and very flattering even for a 40 something year old figure like mine.

When my sister first bought me a pair of metro pants, my first thought was, this is like a teeny bopper style, more suitable for the early twenties figure. But after I put it on and it immediately slid my fashion look meter to the younger side, I was immediately sold on them! Now, I don’t just wear them to work, which they are perfect for, I also sometimes wear them on the weekends when I just want to look nice. I never thought I would wear pants that hang slightly below the waist; I always thought you’re supposed to wear pants right at your waistline. The problem with that thinking is, when you bunch everything at the waist, it makes it look thicker. By having pants that are slightly below the waistline, it actually makes your torso look longer and your waistline smaller. Now you see why I love them?

Now if you love your Dockers as much as I do and are good at making videos, make sure you enter the Dockers contest and maybe get your video shown on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show on June 13. Visit the website for additional details and also to view some of the entries already submitted. Some are pretty good, but I bet you can probably come up with something very original and better. ;)

Angels & Demons

I just finished reading this book last night. I stayed up until 2 a.m. just to finish the darn book because I couldn’t very well put it down just when it was just coming up to the climax! I know, I know, my reading list is about a couple of years behind the best sellers list, but still…

This book is also by Dan Brown, the author of the more famous ‘other book’, the Davinci Code. I must say that Angels & Demons is just as good and as intriguing as the Davinci Code. This book is also about the Harvard symbologist, Robert Langdon and the events of this book actually preclude the events of the Davinci Code. As is the case in the Davinci Code, Angels & Demons has its own twists and turns and unexpected endings that begs to be read and experienced. This is a must read, definitely.
