Stumbling On

I am totally addicted to stumbling now. No, I didn’t suddenly go athletic or nothing, it’s a toolbar that allows me to find new blogs. I have ran across several blogs already that I’ve bookmarked. The bad thing about stuble is that it burns up a whole lot of my time! The other night, I could not believe my eyes when I realized it was 2 a.m. and I have stumbled the nights away!

The good thing about it though, is when someone stumbles through your site and they rank it as good, your visitors spike up! If you’re a blogger looking for readers, try it. You’ll probably get addicted like me.

Oasis Nasal Spray

I saw someone on TV using a nasal wash not too long ago and I thought, how bizarre! But the more I learned about it the more I am intrigued by it. There is an Oasis Nasal Spray that is commonly used for allergies and sinus disorders. Oasis uses a dead sea salt solution which is supposed to be better for you than a saline solution because of its higher mineral content and it has a stronger anti inflammatory effect. Jade, my daughter, gets fairly bad sinus problems so I am keeping this option on hand in case it gives her better relief than the anti-allergy and sinus medicine she normally takes.

Book Sale

One of the things I just can’t pass up in yard sales is books. Can you? I don’t care if they’re old books, I’ll browse through them. One of the things we’re doing to raise funds this week is to hold a book sale. We have a bunch of books that we needed cleaned out of the library, and we were going to donate them, but we found out donating them or reselling them is more hassle than we thought. So, we’re just going to sell them off ourselves for mere cents. But hey, it’s better than going through the hassle, right?

Oh, did I say I already have a stack set aside for me? :)

Web Hosting Scams Alert

My husband just signed up for his own webhosting service so he won’t be sharing mine anymore. He ended up going with the same provider I am using since we are already familiar with their track record.

However, after reading this website about web host scams I had to think twice about the service I’m receiving. When I signed up with my host, they gave me a free domain name. I just said thank you and kept on going. Now that I’ve seen this alert, I’ll have to check back to see if I own the domain name or if they do. There are other signs to watch out for listed on the site. Check it out and make sure you haven’t fallen for any of those gimmicks.

Busy Day

OMG, I just sat down. I’ve been up and running around since 9 this morning. First off, we are having our Hotdog & Bake sale today and tomorrow to raise money for our interns. Today’s hotdog sale was at the clinic, so we had to lug everything over there. Luckily, they have their own grill and we didn’t have to lug this heavy thing way over there. There was enough to carry, believe me.

The good news is, we made over a hundred dollars! That’s a great start. So tomorrow is the big cook out here at the office. We’ll have more people so we hope to make more money. It’s exhilirating, but it’s also tiring. I was dozing off sitting here at my desk.

Thing learned this week: “I doesn’t hurt to ask”.

I hate selling. So you know I have to hate soliciting donations; but, that’s what I had to do this week for our fund raising cookout. I was dreading it, but once I got started, I realized that it wasn’t really that bad! I just had to put my mind set that it wasn’t personal. So if they said no, I wouldn’t get my feelings hurt. The great thing is, most of them said yes! I am so pumped. :)
