Free Online Books

I stumbled on this site today, it’s called Read Print, where you can read classic books right on the website. This is a great resource for students and for anyone who just love reading and re-reading old classics.

Some of the authors featured on the site:

Alcott, Louisa May
Austen, Jane
Bronte, Emily
Poe, Edgar Allan
Shelley, Percy Bysshe
Christie, Agatha
Twain, Mark

There are hundreds more. Check them out.

Drive Safe

At the beginning of the year, my husband and I changed our car insurance carrier and signed on for a new homeowners insurance. We simply went by the recommendations of our insurance broker, we didn’t really look elsewhere. Just lazy, I guess.

But now, the more I think about it, the more I am regretting that move. I should have done a bit more research than I did. There are now places online where you can get free quotes and compare policies before tying yourself to just one. The good thing about insurance though is, you can always change your mind. So as soon as I run across a cheaper rate with similar coverage, I think I will be switching.

If you are in the UK, one place to get free quotes is Auto Net HGV Insurance. This branch specializes in truck insurance. When you enter your information online, they will build a policy custom tailored for your needs and get you the lowest price possible. They will guarantee that you are getting the lowest rate possible or they will refund your money! Awesome, huh? If online forms are too impersonal for you, of course they also have qualified service representatives that you can call and they will set up just the right coverage for you.

StumbleIt

This blog is all about the things we stumble upon, so yesterday, aside from Entrecard, I was also playing with Stumble Upon. It’s another way of keeping up with things that you find and like on the internet. I’m sure you’ve seen the stumble it icon in blogs you read next to the digg, delicious and all the other bookmarking icons.

I hadn’t been that big of a fan of these bookmarking sites in the past. I think it’s just the ‘old dog’ mentality, you know? I thought if I have someone in my blogroll, that’s good enough. I’ll remember to drop in on their blogs once in a while. But after a while, you realize you missed out on some great posts, or some of those on your blogroll have closed shop, etc. I like this stumble and entrecard because it allows me to keep finding new blogs to read. I can also see what others like to read and know what’s hot and what’s not.
